News Letter Spring 2008 Singapore and Borneo 2008 Hi all early in January we set off for the first tour of the new year to Singapore and Borneo. This is a great time to travel leaving the cold winter behind us.
Then a short flight to Saba in Borneo for the rest of the tour, four more rounds of golf, some island hopping and of course no visit could be complete without a visit to the Orang-utan sanctuary at Dalit Bay.

The Classic South African Tour 2008 Our second tour in February headed South to Marions favourite destination
Fancourt, Hermanus and Cape Town. You could call this the classic
South African experience. Unusual for us we did this trip in reverse
starting where we normally finish and vice versa. Eventually we caught up with the main group who had started their
tour a couple of days earlier at Sun City. Fancourt was as ever
a popular resort it is not South Africans no 1 resort for many years
for no reason, the group were also upgraded from the Manor House
to the executive rooms a real bonus.

The
first leg of the journey was to the Sentosa Resort just off the
coast of Singapore. I wasn't sure what I was going to make of Singapore
as many of you know I am a great fan of Asia, but people had told
me it was very sterile not at all like the Asia I love.Well I can
tell you it was fantastic, all of the good parts that I love, the
food, people great courses but in a clean cultured environment and
the restoration of Raffles a real treat, gin slings a must for any
tourist. 
The
winners in the tournament for the Men Mike Cook and in the ladies
event first time winner and a much improved player Alison Clare.
This
was made slightly more difficult as Marion and I and four other
guests missed our connection in Johannesburg, due to a late departure
from Heathrow. Oh well the joys of travelling, no matter how hard
you try things do not always run smoothly, but a big thank you to
the four guests travelling with us for their patience and understanding.
The
tournament winners both for the first time Geoff Osborn and Sarah
Barnes well done to both of them.
