Tavira One of the most architecturally attractive
towns in the Algarve and one we have been looking forward to coming
back to, not only is a charming town there are lots of super golf
courses nearby. Extra golf can be arranged if required but as a
car is included in this holiday. You may prefer to explore the surroundings
area which I am sure you will agree is well worth doing.
These days it is a beautiful town with lots of shops, restaurants
and bars to offer great evenings of wining and dining amongst friends.
The Vila Gale Hotel **** Offering an unbeatable combination
of comfort, convenience and outstanding personal service. Located
in the historic centre of Tavira, a short walk to a wide selection
of restaurants bars etc. All rooms have excellent facilities and
are appointed. Upgraded rooms are available.
Quinta da Cima designed by renowned architect
Rocky Roquemore in 2002 the Cima layout shows itself to be very
competitive having held the European Senior Tour qualifying school.
Doglegs to the right and left, with greens well protected by sand,
and lakes particularly on the final three holes.
Quinta da Ria Also designed by Rocky Roquemore
in 2002 arguably one of
the most picturesque golf courses along the Algarve. This spectacular
layout meanders through the Ria Formosa Natural Park and spreads
along an almost flat surface down to the Ria Formosa itself, hanging
over it and with stunning views of the sea.
Benamore designed by three times open champion
Sir Henry Cotton. This
course offers a pleasant experience to players of all standards.
Undulating but not hilly, with views to the mountains to the North
and the Atlantic Ocean to the South. The premium is on accuracy
rather than power.
Castro Marim This was the first course to be
built in this region and has a very special setting in the peaceful
atmosphere of the eastern Algarve, offering players a design that
has made use of the natural hills and lakes to provide a fair and
enjoyable challenge.
